The Problem

Pavers don't fade evenly. They fade badly.

A paver driveway in Central Florida takes sun, rain, tire traffic and organic growth year after year. The color washes out, the surface greys, and the joint sand slowly disappears.

Once that sand is gone, the real damage starts. Pavers shift and go uneven underfoot. Weeds root in the gaps. Ants build directly into the joints and push more sand out. Each one accelerates the others.

Sealing without re-sanding locks the problem in. That's why joint sand replacement is part of every job here rather than an upsell — sealing over empty joints just makes the failure permanent.

Choose Your Finish

Three finishes. Very different looks.

Most people don't realize this is a choice. It's the single biggest decision on the job, and it's yours.

Natural

No added shine. The pavers look like themselves — clean, protected, matte. The right call when you want the driveway to look maintained rather than treated, or when the home leans traditional.

Shiny

A clear gloss over the surface. Brightens the whole area and makes the paver edges read crisply. Popular on pool decks and entryways where a polished look is the point.

Wet Look

Deepens and enriches the color like the pavers were just rained on. The most dramatic of the three and the most requested — it pulls the original color back out of sun-faded pavers.

What's Included

Every paver sealing job includes all of this.

Sealing is the last step, not the only one. Skipping what comes before it is why some seal jobs fail in a year.

  • Deep clean of the full paver surface — driveway, walkway, pool deck
  • Weeds and organic growth removed from every joint
  • Joint sand fully replaced and swept in — included, never an add-on
  • Your choice of Natural, Shiny or Wet Look finish
  • Two coats of sealer, not one
  • Surrounding areas masked so overspray never touches the house or plants

What sealing prevents

  • Weeds rooting in open joints
  • Ants nesting between pavers
  • Pavers shifting and going uneven
  • Sun bleaching the color out
  • Oil and rust soaking into the surface

Reapplication is typically needed every three to five years depending on sun and traffic.

The Process

Clean, sand, seal.

Deep clean

The surface is pressure cleaned to pull out embedded dirt, algae and old staining, and any weeds in the joints are removed. Pavers have to be genuinely clean or the sealer traps what's underneath.

Re-sand the joints

Joint sand is replaced and swept in so the pavers lock together again. This is the step that keeps weeds and ants out, and it's included on every job.

Two coats of sealer

Your chosen finish goes on in two coats, binding the sand and protecting the surface. Foot traffic in a few hours, vehicles after 24 to 48.

Questions

Paver sealing questions.

How long does paver sealing last?
A properly applied paver seal lasts roughly three to five years in Central Florida. Two coats go on over cleaned, re-sanded joints. Where a driveway lands in that range depends on sun exposure and traffic — a west-facing driveway in full sun gives up its finish sooner than a shaded walkway.
What finishes can I choose from?
Three: Natural, which keeps the pavers looking like themselves with no added shine; Shiny, which adds a clear gloss; and Wet Look, which deepens and enriches the color as if the pavers were just rained on. Wet Look is the most dramatic change and the most popular on driveways and pool decks.
Do you re-sand the joints?
Yes, always. Joint sand is replaced as a standard part of the job, not an add-on. Sand is what locks pavers together — when joints are empty, pavers shift, weeds root and ants build. Sealing over empty joints locks in the problem.
Why do weeds keep growing between my pavers?
Weeds grow because the joint sand has washed out and left a gap for seeds and soil to settle into. Cleaning, re-sanding and sealing fills those joints and binds the sand in place, which removes what weeds and ants need to take hold.
Can you seal pavers that were never sealed before?
Yes. First-time sealing is very common and often produces the most dramatic result, because the pavers have been absorbing dirt and sun for years. The surface gets deep cleaned first, then re-sanded, then sealed.
How long before I can drive on it?
Foot traffic is usually fine within a few hours. Vehicles should stay off for around 24 to 48 hours depending on temperature and humidity. Exact timing is given at the job.
How much does paver sealing cost?
Paver sealing is quoted per property because square footage, current condition, how much sand is missing and which finish you choose all move the price. A free estimate takes about five minutes at (321) 200-5364.
